Favorite Spring Nail Polishes
OPI’s Sweetheart: This polish takes about 3-4 coats for it to be really opaque, though I suppose it depends on your nails. The color is a cream pale pink that almost has a hint of peach to it. Overall it’s a really pretty cream polish and perfect nude color.
Essie’s Mint Candy Apple: This is a very true mint green. There’s no blue tint to it whatsoever. It takes about 2-3 coats to be opaque and has a nice cream finish.
Essie’s Luxe Effect Topcoat in A Cute Above: This is such a pretty flaky glitter to wear layered over another color or alone. On it’s own it’s only needs 2-3 coats to have a really awesome effect and over another polish it only takes 1-2. It has a really cool fish scale effect that I really love and I’ll definitely get a lot of use out of it this spring.
Sally Hansen’s Lacey Lilac: I love this polish in the spring. It’s my favorite Easter polish. The color is a light lavender that leans slightly towards the pinker sides of things but it still makes a very nice purple. Opaque in 2-3 coats with a nice cream finish.
Essie’s Smooth Sailing: I have this color on my nails right now and I can tell you just how lovely it is. It looks almost matte in some lights but it has a nice sheen to it and there’s this brilliant finely ground multi-colored glitter in it that’s so barely noticeable but completely changes the polish. I love wearing this color because it’s so different. Takes about 3 coats to be opaque depending on how generous you are with the polish.
Sally Hansen’s Wet Cement: While this isn’t a normal color for springtime, I’ve never been the most conventional person. I really like this color. It’s a nice warm toned gray that has this nice glossy finish. I’m always on the lookout for odd colors like this to wear. I like being different. It’s opaque in 2-3 coats and is a cream polish.
Sally Hansen’s Blue Me Away!: My favorite transition color into summer and one of my favorite summer colors. This dries a little bit of a deeper teal than the bright blue the bottle shows but it’s still a gorgeous bright color. It’s a really nice pop of color during some of those rainy, blah spring days. Cream finish that’s opaque in 2-3 coats.

Nails of the week!
Essie’s Size matters.
This polish is a pretty pinkish-red color. It has a glossy finish to it and no glitter. It’s completely opaque in two coats which is the usual for Essie polishes. It wears really well - I managed a week out of it last time. It’s been my go-to red since I bought it.
I find this blush works well on me. The product applies evenly and smoothly and blends out really easily. You can build up the color or wear it light for a more natural glow. There is a hint of shimmer in this color but it’s very subtle so that it’s hardly noticeable. It wear for a decent amount of time - around four hours without being set with powder - six hours after being set and it give you a nice glow.
I went back to get it another couple of colors yesterday and couldn’t find them anymore. I believe that they are being replaced by Maybelline’s new Bouncy blushes. I hope that isn’t true because these seem to be so much nicer.
